I have tried the open source driver but I can't play games using it.Ĭode: Select all System: Kernel: 5.4.0-72-generic x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 9.3.0 Desktop: Cinnamon 4.8.6 I have tried all three variations of NVidia drive and I am currently on the latest 460.56-0, and the same behaviour is observed in each. I have the screen to 'never' switch off in power management, and I have the maximum delay in power saver of an hour and 'Lock the computer when put to sleep' set to off. I can hear music in some instances, so the computer is still on. No keyboard clicks, turning the monitor off and on, mouse movement or even cable removal and plugging in will bring the picture back, I have to hard reboot. Its odd as the keyboard and mouse remain in use prior to the screen switching off. This tends to be in games (Football Manager, Prey both on Steam) rather than in normal usage. ![]() I am slowly getting the hang of it, although I have been having an issue with my screen switching off, and I get a message from the monitor 'Monitor going to sleep'. I switched over to Linux Mint from Windows 10 a couple of months ago.
